Many foreign Celebrities around the world have opened up in their interviews about their life story and their ancestral origin. These celebrities when being interrogated, do talk about their biography, the place where their ancestors migrated from and their past life before they actually become famous.

Some of these Celebrities in their interviews claimed to have ancestors who migrated from different African countries long years ago, and through research or stories from parents were able to trace back their origin.

Here are some of American Celebrities who claimed to be Nigerians by origin

1. Big Sean: Sean Michael-Leonard Anderson, popularly known as Big Sean, is an American rapper. Sean signed in Kanye West’s GOOD MUSIC in 2007, Def Jam Recordings in 2008, and Roc Nation in 2014.

Big Sean in a recent interview with Vibe, reveals that he’s half Nigerian. In the seven minutes long video, Big Sean told the interviewer that he is half Nigerian when he spoke about his grandmother, whom he grew up with in Detroit, Michigan in the United States of America.


2. Rihanna: Robyn Rihanna fenty is a Barbadian singer, actress, fashion designer, and Businesswoman. Born in saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, Rihanna was discovered by American record producer Evan Rogers who invited her to the United States to perform demo tapes.

The billionaire singer disclosed this in a recent interview that her mother disclosed her real origin to her that she is primarily an Igbo woman.

She said “My mom told me that I am originally an Igbo woman. Igbo is a tribe in Africa.”

3. Lil Wayne: Dwayne Michael Carter jr, professionally known as Lil Wayne, is an American rapper, record executive, and enterpreneur. He is regarded by contemporaries as one of the most influential hip hop artists of this generation, and often cited as one of the greatest rappers of all time.

The popular rapper disclosed in an interview on Revolt TV and said an ancestral test shows that he’s 53% Nigerian. “Shout out to Nigeria I did my 23 and me ancestry dot com and my shit came back like 53% Nigerian. Yea! me and mum need to have a talk,” Wayne said.
