Protest erupts in Lagos over unmitigated hardship
Protest erupts in Lagos on Friday where residents of the state took to major streets in the state capital, Ikeja, to protest rising hardship in the country.
The protest was convened at Ikeja Under Bridge in the early hours of Friday.
As protest erupts, the Police and officials of LASTMA were at the venue to ensure that the protest was peaceful and ensure smooth traffic within the area.
Authorities of the LASTMA in a traffic update report in the metropolis highlighted @followlastma,
“There’s a protest on going at Ikeja General Hospital under bridge, though peaceful with police officers on ground calming the situation.
“It’s affecting traffic as there’s slow movement from Computer village inward General hospital likewise Local Airport inward General Hospital. However, traffic officers are on ground doing the needful.”
Similar protest held in the Federal capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, earlier in the week, where residents took to the streets to protest demolition and takeover of indigenous land by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, among others.
