Police guard protests in Lagos amidst October 1 mass action on the 64th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence. Nigerians are protesting hardship, suffering and failure of democracy and bad governance.

/ Police at protests venue
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Ishola Lanre, did not only deploy police personnel to sensitive locations in the state, but personally monitored activities of protesters in the State.
The protesters take off point from Under Bridge, Ikeja, to Allen Junction, and other parts of the state capital, Ikeja, was guarded by teams of police officers led by CP Lanre.
Meanwhile, there has not been any casualty or threat of violence as protests in Lagos linger at the time of this report.
