Rivers Mayhem: Throwback of Wike’s advice to Ambode in 2018 to “Resist Godfathers”
The mayhem in Rivers State over attempt to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Monday has degenerated into throwback of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, when he gave an advice to former Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos to resist godfathers during the 2018 crisis in Lagos State, when Wike, himself, was governor in Rivers State.
A media report in 2018 was dug up by a stakeholder, where Wike was identified as telling former Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State to “Resist Godfathers.”

The report was captioned: “Resist Godfathers, Wike Tells Ambode.”
Meanwhile, Rivers State is boiling over the godfather phenomenon Wike is believed to be imposing on Governor Fubara.
Not only has the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, been deposed, and a new Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison, emerged; the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Chibuzor Amadi, has been suspended by the State House of Assembly, and the local government chairmen sacked.
The godfather phenomenon is gradually breeding anarchy in Rivers State.
