Gov Fubara congratulates new Speaker of Rivers Assembly, Edison

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State on Monday congratulated the new Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison.

Edison emerged Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly in the storm of the crisis raging in the state over the plan to impeach the governor.

Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison was earlier reported on Monday to have been re,oved from office as the Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The new Speaker, however, emerged later on Monday after the removal of his predecessor, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, who had presided over the impeachment process of Governor Fubara, inclduing the removal of the House Majority Leader and some other lawmakers.
