Sanwo-Olu appoints coronavirus lockdown easing committee in Lagos
Governor Babajude Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State in a state broadcast on Wednesday disclosed that he has appointed a committee to coordinate the phased relaxing of lockdown and reopening of the economy in the state. The governor said he will inaugurate the Committee on Thursday comprising representatives of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Private Transport Operators, Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), and the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
The governor declared that the Committee will be charged with the responsibility of communicating, to their members, the Controlled Easing Phase framework, and the processes the controlled easing of the Lockdown is being implemented in order that all stakeholders fully understand what is expected from everyone.
“We are mindful of the fact that the success of the implementation will be determined by how well it is communicated to all the Stakeholders, and this Committee will play a critical role in this regard,”. Sanwo-Olu declared.
