See the small African country where you could go to jail for marrying only one wife
Polygamy in this part of the world (Africa) isn’t easily accepted by the society especially among the Christian religious folks.
However, a small country located in the eastern part of Africa have shown support for polygamy as the nation’s government mandated every man to marry atleast two wives.
The Eritrean government made the law recently, and it states that every man should marry atleast two wives or risk going to jail. This is because of the shortage of men in the country due to the casualty caused by their civil war against Ethiopia some years ago.
The law even states that any woman who tries to stop her husband from getting a second wife would also be jailed.
What do you have to say about this law that the Eritrean government placed. Do you think it’s the right thing to do considering the shortage of men in their country? Drop your thoughts in the comments section below.
