Shehu Sani reacts as police suspends 2 female officers over TikTok videos
Human rights activist and former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has called on the Inspector-General of Police to forgive the two female police officers who were suspended over the videos they posted on TikTok.
The two female officers identified as Obaze Blessing and Obaze Emmanuella Uju went viral some days ago after one of them posted videos of them dressed in police uniform and sultry outfits on TikTok.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, recently announced that the two female officers have been suspended over what he described as discreditable conduct and violation of social media policy.
In the post which he shared on his official Twitter handle, and also carried by The Punch, Adejobi added that the suspension of the two female Supernumerary Police Officers was due to a “breach of the provisions of the Police Act, 2020, and The Nigeria Police Guidelines for Recruitment/Promotion/Discipline of Supernumerary Police (SPY) 2013 by the Inspector-General of Police, as captured in a video posted by one of the officers in a viral video on August 3rd, 2022.”
In his message to the Inspector-General of Police about the suspension of the two ladies, Shehu Sani said that when he saw the video, he was shocked, and added that it is something that they can be forgiven for. He said that he can even help in preaching to them not to repeat the action next time.
In the post he made on his verified Twitter handle, he wrote – “Dear IG, please forgive those two suspended female police officers. I can help in preaching and counselling them not to repeat. When I saw the clip, I was momentarily over shocked, but it’s forgivable. Thank you.”
