Side effects of eating snail, you should know
The consumption of snail has some potential health benefits, and also the regular consumption has some side effects, which are listed below.
1. One of the major risks or side effects that are linked with the consumption of snails, comes with your preparation method.
2. Another side effect or danger of regular consumption of snail is that it can cause heart problems, especially when you cook them in a buttery sauces because it adds fat to it, and those fats are stored in your arteries, and too much of those fats deposited in your arteries can cause blockage, and a blocked artery can lead to heart disease or other heart problems.
3. The consumption of raw snails might lead to a serious health issue known as rat lung worm disease. Furthermore, the condition known as rat lung worm is a parasite that mostly get in contact with the snails if it passes or gets in contact with any rat poop.
Therefore, when a snail gets in contact with a rat poop, and you eat that snail raw, you can also get infected, and some major signs of the rat lung worm disease in human are: regular headaches, stiffness, fever, nausea, and even vomiting.
But the good news is that you can avoid the rat lung worm disease in snail by properly cooking the snail before consumption.
