Soldier kills 3 civilians, injures 13 others
A soldier attached to the Operation Hadin Kai Joint Taskforce, on Wednesday, allegedly killed three civilians and injured 13 others in Mafa local government area of Borno State.
National Daily gathered that the victims were killed when the trigger happy soldier (name withheld) recklessly opened fire on people in Mafa town.
An eyewitness said the soldier was reportedly said to be under the influence of psychotropic substances.
He said: “The lifeless bodies of the three persons were laid down flat at Mafa while many people sustained gunshot wounds.”
The eyewitness said the military authorities have already disarmed and arrested the trigger-happy soldier.
Responding to the issue, the spokesman of Operation Hadin Kai Joint Taskforce, Captain Zhakom Samson, said the theatre will issue a formal statement regarding the incident.
