Soldier on suicide mission in Maiduguri, shoots colleagues, kills four, injures two
A Corporal of the Nigerian Army deployed to be part of the Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Army Super Camp 15, at Malam Fatori appeared to be on suicide mission in the barrack. The soldier had opened fire on other soldiers in the same formation in early hours of Wednesday killing four of his colleagues, then shot himself dead.

Report indicated that two other soldiers sustained serious injuries from the shooting of their colleague. They were said to be currently in stable condition in a hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State.
It was gathered that efforts are ongoing to contact the families of the dead soldiers while investigation into the solo shoot out has since been instituted to determine the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident.
