South Korea eliminate Nigeria from Under 20 World Cup, winning 1-0
The Korea Republic on Sunday eliminated the Flying Eagles of Nigeria from the U-20 World Cup in Argentina, defeat the Eagles 1-0 in the quarter finals of the competition.
The quarter final matches between The Korea Republic and Nigeria ended goalless at regulation time. Korea Republic scored the winning goal five minutes into the extra time.
Choi Seok-Hyun of Korea Republic headed the ball past the Nigerian goalkeeper, Kingsley Aniagboso, the winning goal in the fifth minute of the extra time.
Nigeria Eagles fought back for an equaliser but their efforts were fruitless. Korea Republic fought hard to keep the Nigerian players in check, and held on to the one goal lead till the final whistle to qualify for the semi finals against Italy.
