Supreme Court affirms election of Gov Fubara in Rivers
The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Thursday affirmed the election of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State as winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state.
The five-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, in a unanimous judgement, dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tonye Cole, for lack of merit.

Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, delivering the lead judgement, held that the court found no reason to dislodge the upturn the judgements of the Court of Appeal and the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, that upheld the victory of Fubara in the March 2023 election.
