To start with, hepatitis B is known as a deadly liver disease caused by hepatitis B virus. The illness is known as one of the most dangerous type of hepatitis that has claimed a lot of lives.
In this article today, I will be sharing with you few things you need to know about Hepatitis B, which are the symptoms, ways of transmission, causes and treatment.
Below are few symptoms of hepatitis B
Hepatitis B often comes with few warning signs which are;
1. Achy muscles or joints.
2. Stomach pain.
3. Loss of appetite.
4. Mild fever.
5. Loose stool (diarrhea).
6. Lack of energy.
7. Constipation.
8. Having yellow skin or eyes (jaundice).
9. Being sick to your stomach.
10. Brown urine.
In other words, there are certain ways in which the virus can be transmitted.
1. Exposure to blood, semen and other bodily fluids of with an infected person.
2. Having unprotected sex.
3. Sharing or using dirty needles for drug use, tattoos or piercing.
4. Sharing of personal belongings like toothbrush, needle, razor and others.
5. From mother to child
However, the hepatitis B virus can be transmitted through certain ways mentioned above except, kissing on the cheek or lips, coughing or sneezing, hugging shaking hands or holding hands and eating food that someone with the infection has prepared.
Treatment for hepatitis B
Actually, there is no specific cure for the virus for now, but when managed properly, those living with the virus can expect to live a normal life, by maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle. Moreover, visiting your doctor from time to time can help. It is advisable for us to know that leaving hepatitis B virus untreated can lead to severe liver damage which may require liver transplant.
Therefore, any one infected with this virus should be careful and conscious of his or her health in order to avoid further complications.
