The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited on Tuesday assured that the company has over 1.5 billion litres of petrol in stock which is capable of providing 30 days supply sufficiency across the country.
The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye, in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja , was of the view that there is no need for panic buying of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), known as petrol, affirming that NNPCL has 1.5 billion litres which can guarantee 30 days of product sufficiency.
Soneye noted that NNPCL while monitoring filling stations in several states, including Lagos and the FCT, noticed that fuel queues have since thinned out, adding: “a development that will keep improving daily in other states.”
The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPCL further indicated that the company is in collaboration with relevant downstream agencies, which include the Nigerian Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), labour unions in the sector, and security operatives, to curtail hoarding and other unwholesome practices.
