2 killed at APC primary
No fewer than two persons have been confirmed dead after violence erupted at the venue of House of Assembly primary of the APC in the Alimosho area of Lagos Friday evening.
The two were identified as Muftau Ogunlaye and Suraju Dauda while many others reported sustained varying degrees of injury.
Sources said four persons were killed but police confirmed two fatalities.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said that violence broke out after the results of the election were announced.
“Two persons were killed. They were Muftau Ogunlaye, 44, and Suraju Dauda, 42. No arrest has been made yet. A primary election was being held in the area. After the announcement of the results, they started fighting,” he said.
