Femi Fani-Kayode is currently in hot seat before the EFCC after the commission pulled back its operatives that besieged his Maitama home on Friday.

Fani-Kayode was the PDP Campaign Organisation media handler, and was alleged to have received N840 million from the N2.5 billion the organisation got from the office of the ex-NSA Sambo Dasuki.

Esther Usman Nenadi, the group’s finance director, was said to have received the amount, which she shared among six others, including former Gov. Achike Udenwa, Olu Falae, Prof. Rufai Alkali, special adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, and others.

All the suspects have denied they got the money from the $2.1 billion Dasuki spent on financing Jonathan’s re-election bid. Some of them have, however, refunded some money, while others have promised to remit theirs.

Fani-Kayode, one of the loudest critics of the APC government, had declared he got the money from the PDP, and as such he had nothing to do with Dasuki.

But he promised last week he was ready to cooperate with the EFCC for the interview.
