2023: PDP’s trustees chairman admits Wike is right on one point
Chairman, PDP’s BoT, Walid Jibril has admitted the nort dominate the major opposition party, saying it’s really unfair.
The northern dominance has been a source of crisis in the party since prpeparatios began in 01 for the 02 presidential election.
“To tell the truth, it will not be fair for the president of Nigeria to be from the north, the chairman and the BoT chairman from the north”, he said on Channels TV on Sunday.
He however said the party is looking into it.
“Whatever we can do, we will do it in the interest of the party to make the party remain as PDP”, he added.
The major positions in the party are occupied by northern politicians. While Jubril chairs the BoT, Iyorcha Ayu heads the NWC, and Atiku Abubakar is the party’s presidential candidate.
Rivers Gov. Nyesom Wike has protested the lopsidedness, and he’s fighting tooth and nail to make his point by threatening the party’s outing in the 2023 presidential election.
He has asked Ayu to step down; otherwise there will be no reconciliation between him and Atiku.
