2023 Presidential Race: 1 Northern governor Tinubu may pick as his running mate
With every passing day, Nigeria draws close to the 2023 general election and we still can’t confidently point at anyone who would be Buhari’s successor in 2023. At the moment, Tinubu is one of the most influential political figures who have been lined up to replace President Buhari in 2023.
However, Tinubu is an influential politician in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). His influence within the party has resulted in him being referred to as the APC National Leader.
Actually, many supporters have begun campaigning for him to contest for the forthcoming elections. In these article I will mention one northern politician Tinubu might pick as his running mate.
One of the Northern APC Leaders, that Tinubu needs to Pick as his running mate in 2023, is the Governor of Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum.
Governor Babagana Zulum has Performed creditably well as Governor of the state, and there is great assurance, that he will also Perform well, if he can be picked as Tinubu’s running mate in 2023. Though, Babagana Zulum has not declared his intention to contest for the Position of Vice President.
Professor Zulum’s advantages stem from his performances as the governor of Borno State. Most Nigerians see him as one of the most progressive governors in the country. A sentiment that can be seen in him being adjudged the best performing governor in 2020. Furthermore, being the governor of a state like Borno State which is facing security crisis, the electorates may want to see Zulum bring his experience dealing with the security crisis in the state into the presidency.
Therefore, if Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu clinches the Presidential Ticket of APC and Picks Professor Zulum as his Running mate, then the Party may find it very easy, to win the Forthcoming Presidential Race.
