2023: What Buhari aide to first openly support Tinubu said
Since APC’s national leader Bola Tinubu declared his intention to gun for the presidency in 2023, President Muhamadu Buhari and his cabinet have been careful in revealing where their hearts belong.
The silence gets more deafening as V.P Yemi Osinbajo, who many believe should contest, has yet to take a stand. Not to mention rumours bubbling Buhari is offering his seat—just for the asking—to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
But Buhari’s Twitter handler, who first splashed on the internet photos of Tinubu recovering from a knee surgery last year, has taken the lead again.
Bashir Ahmad was responding to a Twitter query for him to choose between Tinubu and GEJ.
Ahmad said, “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu!”
Scores of support groups began pushing for a Tinubu presidency as early as 2020. More groups have sprung up following his declaration in January.
