US issues DSS ultimatum to find Ogbomoso hotelier killers
The remains of the late Maryland-based hotelier killed in Ogbomoso, Oyo, in July, have been buried in the US after the American government carried out its own independent autopsy.
Gbenga Owolabi came to Nigeria to invest in the hospitality industry in his hometown Ogbomoso where the kidnappers, suspected to be herdsmen, killed him and his aide after his relatives paid N5m in ransom
One of the relatives, Ayorinde Owolabi, revealed that the USA gave the Nigerian government, particularly the DSS, an ultimatum to find the American killers.
According to him, the American government wanted evidence so they had to carry out their own autopsy here at LAUTECH, and later in a military hospital in the US.
The late Owolabi was buried in Maryland’s Trinity Church on October 1.
