23-yr-old lady arrested for stealing a three-day-old baby after suffering a stillbirth
A 23-year-old lady, identified as Itunu Adepoju, has been arrested by the police in Oyo State for allegedly stealing a three-day-old baby girl in Itamerin area of the state.
The suspect who lives in Ajah, Lagos State, was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the stolen baby, Monsurat Lateef, 36.
It was gathered that Monsurat delivered a baby girl on Saturday, July 16 at Mission House, in Itamerin, Ogbere.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adewale Osifeso, “However on Tuesday July, 19, she proceeded to Abaemu General Hospital, Ona-Ora to initiate immunization proceedings for her daughter from where she met the suspect who approached her as a friendly patient who also soughted Medical intervention.
Unknown to Monsurat, the suspect had just suffered a stillbirth and had been referred to the same health facility for scan.
