The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a 53-year-old civil servant, Mrs Oyawoye Olajumoke Fafemi, for allegedly defrauding 23 church members seeking employment.
She was arraigned before Justice Mohammed Sani of the Federal High in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday, September 26, by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Commission.
The suspect, who’s a staff member of the Kwara State Ministry of Finance, was arraigned on four counts bordering on employment scam and Hajj pilgrimage fraud.
The EFCC’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Tuesday, September 27, said the defendant was accused of collecting various sums of money from 23 members of the Christ Apostolic Church in Offa, Kwara State, under the guise of helping them secure employment in the Kwara State Civil Service Commission and Federal Government Parastatals which she never fulfilled.
