56-year old man impregnate own teenage daughter
It was double jeopardy for an 18-year old girl in Lagos State, who was brutally raped by her 56-year old biological father, Cletus Asibe and she fled from home, only to realize that her father had already impregnated her.
It was later gathered that the man’s daughter is now four months pregnant after a test was conducted on her by doctors. She was said to be in a dilemma over what to do with the pregnancy from her father.
The incident happened at Femi Osobu Street, Agodo Egbe area of Ikotun, Lagos, where they reside.

The matter was reported to the Police at the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command. The man, Asibe, was arrested and detained for interrogation over his conduct considered to be sacrilege. At the Gender Section, he reportedly admitted to have done so but blamed it on the devil claiming to have been tempted severally to do so and did not know he got her pregnant.
According to the Police sources, the suspect, Asibe, was said to have molested the daughter whenever their mother went out for work and warned her not to tell anyone about what he was doing to her.
The daughter was said to have kept the abuse to herself and when she could not bear it any longer, she fled from home. It was when she fell sick that a test was conducted on her and the result showed that she was pregnant.
She returned back home and informed her mother what happened and the matter was reported to the Police. Thereafter, the victim was taken to a rehabilitation centre, where she was said to be undergoing trauma management in order to save her life.
The suspect, Asibe, has been charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A Layinka, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 30th June, 2022, for the report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
