73-yr-old kills brother because of land

A 73-year-old man, Ohalete Jogoji, has killed his immediate younger brotheR over land issues, and the youth of Amaraku, Isiala Mbaino, are protesting.

The protesters were going to lynch him when he was rescued and brought to the police command headquarters in Owerri.

On interrogation, he said he killed his younger brother, Jogoji Augstine while he was asleep.

According to him, the brother, a truck pusher, snatched the only plot of land belonging to the family.

“I was angry that he took the only land belonging to our family. Instead of me to be in possession of the only portion of land as the first son, he possessed it. I got angry and attacked him,” he told the Punch.

The suspect’s daughter, Nkiru, said though his father and his slain younger brother used to have minor issues. But she was surprised that things went out of control.

Uwandu told our correspondent that the suspect invaded his brother while he was at sleep in his room and killed him.
