APC restructuring: Gov Yahaya Bello coaxes Tinubu
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Friday attempted to induced the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, whose stake in the ruling APC came under serious threat after the Thursday National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party in Abuja which dissolved the APC National Working Committee (NEC), sealing the dismissal of Adams Oshiomhole, former APC chairman nominated by Tinubu, into accepting the developments in the party.
Governor Bello on Channels Television’s Politics Today, accordingly, coaxed Tinubu into accepting the restructuring of the APC leadership structures at the NEC meeting without wide consultations among party stakeholders, yet, beguiling Tinubu into believing that APC highly recognizes his authority. The Kogi State governor was in attendance at the meeting.
Governor Bello had maintained that Tinubu continues to be a father of the ruling APC in spite of decisions in the party without his contributions. The Kogi governor had declared: “Bola Tinubu has paid his dues; nobody is undermining him.” He acknowledged that Tinubu continues to play a fatherly role, adding that APC needs the elder statesman.
