Northern PDP Governors raise alarm over APC govt intimidation for defection
Northern Governors elected and serving on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at a meeting at the Taraba State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, had raised alarm over the intimidating its members by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Government to coercively defect to the ruling APC.
The surviving five PDP Northern Governors faulted the leadership style of the ruling APC but promised to do the best they can to improve life for their people.
In attendance at the meeting, were the host, Governor Darius Ishaku, governors Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Samuel Ortom of Benue, and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto states.
The PDP, hosted by Governor Darius Ishiaku of Taraba State, berated the APC government, protesting that even the North has been shortchanged under the current leadership.
The governors reiterated that the APC government has been intimidating their members into leaving the PDP and decamping to APC; they cautioned the ruling party to stop forthwith from such political animosity.
