By Kingsley Chukwuka
Stakeholders in the Plateau State All Progressive Congress (APC), has said the immediate past governor of Nasarawa State, Sen. Tanko Umaru Almakura is the best man to lead the Party as National Chairman in the forthcoming coming APC convention in 2022.
The Stakeholders arising from a nocturnal meeting said the achievement of the ex governor in Nasarawa State for eight years informed their decision.
Speaking in a press statement Tuesday, spokesman for the forum, a former defunct CPC governorship aspirant in Plateau State, Comrade Podar Yiljwan Johnson said Sen. Almakura has been able to distinguish himself in terms of capacity building, infrastructural development and peace building over the years.
According to him: “The Senator while as a governor and a current serving Senator in the 9th Assembly has been able to distinguish himself in the area of Politics and Governance, Security and Conflict Management, Economic and Infrastructural Advancement and Curtailing the excesses in inequality.
“As a visionary leader, he consider humility and a sense of humanity to be the crux of his reasoning and that gives him the capacity of being the Nationalist”.
Johnson said if Almakura emerges the National Chairman the APC he would ensure the full implementation of the “MERGER PRINCIPLE” as one of the founding fathers of the party.
“The ambition of Almakura is not largely built around him achieving his personal aggrandizement, but his aim and objective is to strengthen the internal Democracy of the party through revamping the culture of National consciousness, National unity and patriotism in his discharge of duties.
“As a disciplinarian, the supremacy of the constitution of the party will be a sacrosanct venture by all and sundry without any prejudice.
“Therefore, there is need for Nigerians to have a new paradigm shift from what has been obtainable”, he said.
