Ganduje sacks Commissioner for Religious Affairs over unguarded statements
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Saturday sacked the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Tahar Adam, over ‘unguarded statements’.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba, in a statement on Saturday, indicated that the former commissioner has been exhibiting attitude unbecoming as a public servant holding sensitive office, as well as unguarded utterances, declaring that the decision is with immediate effect.
According to the Information Commissioner, “He was also found to be running the affairs of his office as personal business and even unilaterally reducing working days for the staff of the ministry, exempting Wednesdays and Fridays.”
Muhammad Tahar Adam was, however, said to be disloyal to the governor.
Governor Ganduje has sent the name of a nominee, Dr. Nazifi Ishaq Bichi of the Bayero University, Kano, to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation to replace Adam.
