Ortom ‘ll not appear before any disciplinary committees, Wike dares Ayu
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Friday said Governor Samuel Ortom will not appear before the disciplinary committee set up by the Peoples Democratic Party.
Recall that the PDP had on Thursday announced the suspension of Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti state, Pius Ayim and two other members of the party, while also summoning Ortom to appear before a disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities.
Responding, Wike cautioned PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, against hunting the G-5 governors.
Wike warned that Ayu and the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, can’t cage members of the G-5.

Recall that the G-5 governors led by Wike had demanded Ayu’s resignation before the 2023 presidential election.
The governors noted that the North couldn’t provide PDP’s presidential candidate and National Chairman.
The group comprises Wike, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
Ayu’s NWC had referred Ortom to a disciplinary committee for anti-party activities following the outcome of the 2023 general elections.
However, Wike, while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said: “You cannot cage any of us.”
“Ortom will not appear before any of your so-called disciplinary committees. Ayodele Fayose will also never appear before any disciplinary committee.”
