Headies Awards: Guchi, Bayanni others nominated for ‘Rookie of the Year’ category

The organisers of the renowned Nigerian music award, Headies Awards, have announced the first set of nominees for the 16th edition of the award.

The organisers made the “Rookie of the Year” category nominees public on their Twitter account on Tuesday.

The category is described by the organisers as “A voting category for the rookie of the year who has had a successful year musically, with the absence of an album in the year under review.”

Guchi, Bayanni, Odumodublvck, Khaid, Bloody Civilian, and Elter Skillz are the nominees in this category.

Teni, Mayorkun, Ycee, Reekado Banks, Bad Boy Timz, Barry Jhay, and Fave are just a few of the category’s past winners.

The award also has categories for Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, Next Rated, and others.

Only one edition of the Headies Award has been held outside the country since the award’s inception, and that was the 15th edition, which took place on September 4, 2022, in the United States of America.
