Nigeria ranks highest on global unemployment rating – World of Statistics
Latest report of the World of Statistics shows that Nigeria ranks highest on global rating of unemployment across the world. The statistics indicated that the Nigeria has become the worst country in the world with rising unemployment rate.
The latest statistics released by the World of Statistics indicates that Nigeria tops other countries with 33.3 per cent, trailed by South Africa which has 32.9 per cent, and Iran 15.55 per cent.
The statistics shows the lowest rate of unemployment were recorded in countries like Qatar which has 0.1 per cent, Cambodia 0.36 per cent, and Niger Republic 0.5 per cent.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) had in an earlier report revealed that the unemployment rate in Nigeria increased to 33.30 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2020 from 27.10 per cent in the second quarter of 2020.
KPMG, in a seeming update statistics, disclosed that the Nigerian unemployment rate increased to 37.7per cent in 2022, and would further rise to 40.6per cent.
Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Statistics is yet to release update report of unemployment and employment figures for the country which it had promised to release in May 2023.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government is yet to respond to the latest ranking of global unemployment which Nigeria tops the table as the worst unemployment hit country in the world.
