Army arrests illegal ammunition suppliers, recovers weapons
Troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army have arrested two terrorist collaborators and ammunition suppliers in Awon, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Division’s acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Musa Yahaya, on Wednesday.
The statement revealed that the criminals, Shuaibu Lawan and Salihu Usman, were arrested on Tuesday in their various houses based on intelligence from a previously arrested collaborator who has been in the troops’ custody.

Items recovered include one locally made AK-47 rifle, two Dane guns, eight rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, and five shells of expended cartridges. The items were recovered from where they were buried in the criminal’s compound.

The statement further read, “In another operation the same day, troops of the Division, while on clearance operation around Dogon daji-Saulawa general area in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, made contact with terrorists and criminal elements.
“Troops engaged the criminals in a gun duel, forcing them to scamper in disarray due to the superior firepower of the trops. Items recovered include a G3 rifle, 16 motorcycles, two locally made guns, and a phone.”
