President Tinubu reappoints Prof. Samson Duna as Director General of NBRRI

President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Prof. Samson Duna for another four-year term as the Director-General of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI). Duna, a highly respected Professor of Civil Engineering and registered engineer, has been serving in the role since 2020 and is recognized for his leadership in advancing research and infrastructure development in Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Prof. Samson Duna as the Director-General of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) for another four years.

The reappointment was confirmed in a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information at NBRRI, Mr. Peter Mashem, on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to the statement, the reappointment was officially conveyed to Prof. Duna through a letter from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

Prof. Duna has been serving as the Director-General of NBRRI since 2020. An esteemed academic and professional, he is a Professor of Civil Engineering from Billiri Local Government in Gombe State.

He is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and holds membership in several prestigious professional organizations. These include the Nigerian Institute of Engineering Management (MNIEM), the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (FNICE), and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).

In addition, Prof. Duna is a Fellow of the Nigerian Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (FNAEGE) and serves as a Council Member of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON). He is also a member of the Industrial/Sectoral Board for the Regional Transport Research and Education Centre (TRECK) in Kumasi, Ghana.

Prof. Duna’s reappointment is seen as a continuation of his leadership in advancing the goals of NBRRI in the areas of building, road research, and infrastructure development.
