Babachir Lawal — Tinubu is full of himself , Obi won 2023 election
The problem with Bola Tinubu is that he thinks I’m the one that offended him. I didn’t offend him — he offended me. He is full of himself, and he thinks that he is now the so-called president… I believe he didn’t win the election.
A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has alleged that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, won the 2023 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Lawal claimed that, based on the facts available to him, Obi emerged as the true winner of the election that eventually led to the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s 16th president.
Babachir Lawal, a known critic of the current administration, stated emphatically that Tinubu did not win the election, alleging that the results were manipulated.
“The result available to me at that time showed he didn’t win the election,” he said. “The problem with Bola Tinubu is that he thinks I’m the one that offended him. I didn’t offend him he offended me. He is full of himself, and he thinks that he is now the so-called president… I believe he didn’t win the election.”

Babachir Lawal claimed that he and his team closely monitored the election process, gathered data, and tracked results as they came in from the field. According to him, some of those results were later altered.
When asked about the cause of his fallout with President Tinubu, Lawal responded, “He is arrogant. The guy has an arrogance that belies definitions.”
Babachir Lawal’s comments have sparked new debate around the integrity of the 2023 presidential election, which has remained a subject of controversy among various political stakeholders.
