Badaru charges troops to intensify action against bandits in North West

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has directed troops of the Nigerian Army to maintain sustained and intensive operations against bandits and terrorists in the North West region, with the goal of completely eradicating insecurity across the country.
Badaru issued this directive while addressing troops at Dukku Barracks in Birnin Kebbi during his ongoing operational visit to the state.
“I urge you to intensify your efforts in eradicating all forms of insecurity in the country. It is time to finish all aspects of insecurity,” he said.
According to a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by his Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mati Ali, the minister conveyed the profound gratitude of President Bola Tinubu to the troops for their unwavering dedication and successes in promoting peace nationwide.
Badaru commended the soldiers for their professionalism, bravery, and the sacrifices they have made in the ongoing fight against banditry and other criminal activities.
“The president and the nation are profoundly grateful for your unwavering commitment,” he stated.

Expressing his satisfaction with the troops’ assurances of their readiness to execute their tasks, the minister noted that their unified response had strengthened his confidence in their ability to restore peace and security, enabling citizens to carry out their daily lives without fear.
Badaru reiterated the government’s firm commitment to supporting the armed forces, emphasizing the priority placed on their welfare and the provision of necessary resources to ensure they are well-equipped to fulfill their duties effectively.
He explained that the purpose of his visit was to assess the progress of ongoing military operations in the North West region and to uplift the morale of the dedicated soldiers actively engaged in combating insecurity, particularly within the zone.
