Chelsea’s pursuit of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is being delayed as the club focuses on other transfer dealings.

The Blues are currently prioritising the signing of RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons while also working on the potential exits of forwards Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

Only after concluding those moves, the report says, will Chelsea push ahead with their bid for Garnacho.

The 20-year-old Argentina international has already reached a personal agreement with Chelsea and has made it clear that Stamford Bridge is his preferred destination should he leave Old Trafford this summer.

However, the uncertainty surrounding Chelsea’s attacking department means Garnacho’s transfer has not been finalised.

Nkunku, who has struggled with injuries since joining Chelsea from Leipzig, is reportedly being lined up for a move away, while Jackson could also be sold to free up space in the squad and balance finances.

Simons, meanwhile, is seen as a key reinforcement to bolster Chelsea’s midfield options ahead of the new season.

For now, Garnacho remains at Manchester United, but his future is closely tied to Chelsea’s ability to complete their current transfer priorities.

The winger is expected to wait until the Blues resolve their business before any deal can be finalised.
