Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has opened up about a deeply personal chapter of his early life, revealing how family conflict shaped his upbringing.

Speaking during a recent interview, the actor recounted how his father was forced to make a difficult decision after an ultimatum from his stepmother. According to Inojie, the situation led to him being sent away from his father’s home at a young age

He disclosed that he only lived with his father for about eight months, describing the period as filled with tension and daily conflict.

“In all my life, I’ve only lived with my father for eight months as his child. From the moment I moved in, it was trouble every single day,” he said.

Inojie further revealed that his stepmother demanded his father choose between them, and his father ultimately chose her. He also shared how she attempted to delay his education, insisting he wait for her own child, who is significantly younger, so they could attend university together.

“My stepmother told my father to choose between me and her, and he chose her. When I finally got admission into the university, she insisted I should wait for her own child to grow so we could attend together, a child I’m 18 years older than,” he added.

The actor’s revelation sheds light on the challenges he faced growing up and the resilience that has defined his journey.
