Rivers: Sergeant dismissed, arraigned for releasing killer of 8-yr-old girl
The sergeant who allegedly let go of a ritual murderer that abducted, raped, and killled an eight-year-old girl in Port Harcourt has been arraigned by the Nigerian Police for obstruction of justice and conspiracy.
Johnbosco Okoroeze’s arraignment followed his dismissal from the service after the circumstances surrounding the escape of the suspect had been investigated.
He was in handcuffs when he was brought before a Chief Magistrate Sokari Andrew-Jaja in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
The chief magistrate ordered that he should be remanded in the prison custody, while the case was adjourned to September 14.
Ifeanyi Dike whom Okoroeze was supposed to investigate for the alleged rape and murder of an Chikamso Victory butchered with her vagina, fingers, breasts, and tongue harvested for ritual purposes. .
The suspect, a 200-level student of the University of Port Harcourt, escaped from the police custody on Saturday night at the State Criminal Investigation Department, the very night he was arrested.
