Aisha’s statement incites NASS against Aso Rock
The National Assembly have started moves to probe the state of the presidential health facility, following criticism by First Lady Aisha Buhari during in the week.
Aisha poked at the clinic for not having a single syringe despite billions voted for it.
The PDP said there was a need to probe “the deplorable condition of the State House Clinic” and alleged deductions from payments to staff.
The motion was submitted to the lower House of Representatives on Thursday. It was passed, and the lawmakers were told to report back in three weeks.
The clinic has been allocated just over N11 billion in the last three years for upgrading and the purchase of drugs and equipment.
President’s daughter Zahra was the first to blow open the state of the clinic when she claimed it lacked basic drugs such as paracetamol.

She said on her Instagram account that staff had no equipment to work with and asked “Where is the money going to?”
The posts was trending before it was later deleted.
The presidency responded, promising the clinic would be “repositioned to offer qualitative and efficient services”.
The permanent secretary at the presidential villa, Jalal Arabi, denied there was “misappropriation and withholding of funds meant for medical supplies” at the facility.
President Muhammadu Buhari has been going to the UK for his own medical treatment since 2015.
