A lot of referees will cease to hold whistle — Pinnick
By ESTHER EGBE
THE President of Nigeria football federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick said ” I am a proud Warri boy, a team I nurtured to greatness , Warri Wolves is struggling with relegation and even had a share of a horrible officiating in the same Federation Cup, that should be instructive to you that we are very sincere about developing the game in Nigeria. Two clubs under his 1st Vice President are in danger zone, again, this should spell sincerity”.
Amaju said the NFF is not sleeping but will definitely act at the appropriate time. He said there are several factors to take into consideration when applying sanctions on referees and officials. And as such pleaded to all to be a little patient. “Football it is a journey” he opined.
Pinnick revealed that Nigeria football followers should trust him on the fact that he would see to it that a lot of referees cease to hold the whistle. Seriously, I feel really pained but will take a personal interest in this case. We invest a lot in remodeling and redefining refereeing in Nigeria.
The football boss concluded that Nigeria Football is a project and journey, not a destination so we need all hands to make it work with constructive and objective criticism.
