Abuja businessman arrested for selling illicit drugs online
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a businessman, Mr. Orakwe Chibuike Celestine, for allegedly selling illicit and controlled drugs on a popular e-commerce platform.
The suspect is the MD/CEO of Marvelrock Pharmaceuticals and Stores Limited, a company he registered on December 16, 2014 with the certificate and support of a licensed pharmacist, who opted out of the deal in 2017.
The graduate of Business Administration from the University of Abuja, continued running the business and enrolled it on the said e-commerce platform in 2019.
NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Wednesday, August 17 said: “He however came under NDLEAs radar in October 2021 when he advertised many pharmaceutical products such as Tramadol, Ketamine Hydrochloride injection, Hypnox flunitrazepam tablets among others on Jiji.ng.
