Abuja woman hospitalised after husband’s attack over pregnancy termination
A woman identified as Mrs Charity Olotu Aziz has reportedly been hospitalised after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband at their residence in Ushafa community, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday night following a disagreement between the couple over the termination of Charity’s pregnancy.
According to reports, the couple had initially agreed that Charity could terminate the pregnancy. However, her husband was said to have subsequently changed his mind.
The situation reportedly escalated after the husband discovered that Charity had already taken medication to terminate the pregnancy.

He allegedly became enraged and attacked her, subjecting her to severe beating.
Neighbours reportedly said the assault left Charity with visible injuries, including bleeding from her mouth.
Following the incident, her parents were informed and immediately travelled to Bwari, where they took her to a hospital for medical attention.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police for investigation.
However, the husband allegedly fled the residence after learning that police officers were on their way to arrest him. His whereabouts remained unknown as of the time of filing this report.
The incident has renewed concerns over domestic violence and the need for victims of abuse to have access to prompt medical, legal and law-enforcement support.
