Afenifere: Buhari statement denies killers of Afenifere leader’s daughter are Fulani herdsmen
President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with Afenifere leader Reuben Fasoranti whose daughter was killed by bandits an eyewitness suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The National Daily reported earlier Funke Olakunrin was killed by gunmen along Ore Junction on Friday.
But the spokesperson of the Ondo State police command, Femi Joseph, said that some other passengers were kidnapped during the incident, which happened on Friday, adding that the criminal attacked on the Benin-Sagamu expreeway.
Reacting, Buhari in a statement by his Special Adviser on (Media & Publicity) Femi Adesina on Twitter said, “President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, whose daughter, Mrs Funke Olakunrin was killed along Ondo-Ore road by those described as armed robbers by Ondo Police Command.
Earlier reports quoted an eyewitness as saying that the 58-year-old died of gunshot wounds.
“He prays God to give Pa Fasoranti fortitude to bear the loss,” he added
