Aged drummer gets half of proceeds from sale of photo as NFT
An aged drummer in Ibadan has got half of the proceeds from the sale of his image as a digital asset, a non-fungible token.
A photographer, Adisa Olashile, had earlier chronicled how the drummer always played for corpers observing the weekly Community Development Service in Ibadan.
Olashile went on to reveal that he sold the man’s image as a digital asset and gave him half of the proceeds.
He tweeted the moment he gave the money to the aged drummer.
Olashile tweeted, “Remember Baba Onilu? This is the video of how I gave him 50% of the money made from his picture that minted as nft on #opensea .
NOTE: I’m not rich, I just felt baba needs the money more, nft is here to stay and I will be fine later.”
According to Forbes, an NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency, and they are generally encoded with the same underlying software as many cryptos.
