Ahmad Lawan did not wish to contest against Tinubu, some people pushed him – Babajide Otitoju
Investigative journalist, Babajide Otitoju, has made some revelations regarding the emergence of Ahmad Lawan as a presidential aspirant of the APC. In his interview on TVC News, Babajide spoke concerning the people behind Ahmad Lawan’s presidential bid and their roles in the APC primary saga.
Addressing the topic, Babajide said, “Bola Tinubu was visibly disappointed that Ahmad Lawan contested against him.” I would have also been disappointed. However, I am sure Bola Tinubu will understand that Ahmad Lawan did not wish to contest against him. Some people pushed Lawan all the way.
He continued, “The people who pushed Lawan bought the nomination form for him and funded his campaign.” That was the nature of this contest. Many of the aspirants were propelled by people from elsewhere. Some people were behind the scenes, pushing the aspirants to contest. Ahmad Lawan was one of those who had no intention of contesting, but he was pushed by some people at the last minute. Bola Tinubu was really disappointed, but he has to endure these things as a senior. They will work together as brothers in the future.
