A 15-year-old girl working as a maid in the home of an Air Force officer at the Air Force Barracks, Ikeja, Lagos, has been sexually abused by the officer identified as W.O Farodoye.

The Champion which first reported the story gathered that everyday in the morning when his wife and children had gone to work and school respectively, officer Farodoye sneaked home and allegedly forces himself on the girl.

The girl was quoted to have said Farodoye also had sex with her every evening and in the night when no one was watching.

According to the Advocates For Children and Vulnerable Persons Network, the girl has been complaining of stomach ache.

“She confided in a neighbour and that the man used condoms when perpetrating the act, and that he came back home maybe at break time to have sex with the girl,” the NGO stated

Following the complaint, ACVPN coordinator Mr. Ebenezer Omejalile said they went to the Air Force Base Gender/ Legal team.

“We met the 2IC to the OC of the unit by name P. W. Adedeji. We presented the matter before him, and how urgently we need their cooperation to rescue the survivor and for the perpetrator to be arrested as well.

“Adedeji told us that he would do the needful, but the head of operation is on his annual leave.”

Omejalile said Adedeji assured that before the close of work he would reach out to them to come over.

“We also informed PW Adedeji that the survivor said the perpetrator has been abusing her since age 13 till date and she has started experiencing stomach ache.”
PW ADEDEJI later informed them the perpetrator and the survivor had been summoned.

“PW Adedeji further told us that the survivor confirmed she has been under consistent molestation in the hands of the erpetrator,” Omejalile said.

According to Adedeji, Farodoye didn’t deny the survivor’s claim.

“He asked what our position is on this matter, and we told him our position is first of all the survivor should be rescued, and the perpetrator should be prosecuted so that this would serve as a deterrence to others,” the NGO director said.

Adedeji then asked the group to come back with a working document for the survivor’s release.

“We have equally notified the child protection Unit (CPU) Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development MYSD Alausa Ikeja for the placement,” Omejalile added.

The CPU equally demanded a letter from the Air Force.
