Alimosho Reps aspirant, Onifade drags APC, Ayuba, others to court
Babatunde Semiu Onifade one of the aspirants, who vied for the house of representatives tickets, under the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Alimosho federal constituency of Lagos State, has sued the party, joined the purported winner of the primary Hon Ganiyu Adele Ayuba and others, in a suit number FHC/L/CS/1128/22 before the Federal High Court, Lagos Division.
Onifade is praying the court to nullify the primary that supposedly produce Hon Ayuba as the party candidate, because he was deliberately precluded from the rescheduled primary of Monday 30th May 2022, as the Friday 27 May 2022 primary was cancelled, due to orchestrated fracas that led to the loss of the lives of two party members.

The petitioner is praying the Court to nullify the purported ticket of Hon Ayuba, citing the provisions of the Electoral Act sections 84 (13), 5 (1,2), which reads where a political party fails to comply with these provisions in the conduct of it primaries, it candidate in the election shall not be included in the election for the particular position in issue.
Other defendants joined in the suit include the APC South West Deputy National Chairman, APC Lagos State Chairman and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Nine contestants competed for the Alimosho Federal Constituency APC House of Representatives ticket, Hon Ayuba was declared winner by the State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.
