Rotimi Amaechi, the honorable minister of Transport, has reportedly joined the 2023 presidential race, while clearing the air about his ancestry he revealed that his name is Chibuike Amaechi and he is an Igbo man by birthright, heritage and ancestry, he said people would only contest this fact if they want to be sectional and deny the Igbo people. He said he is an Ikwerre man and his people are Igbos.

After Joe Igbokwe came across that news, he took to his Facebook account to react by saying that the Honorable minister of transport, former two term governor of Rivers State and former two term speaker of the Rivers State House of assembly once said publicly that he is not Igbo. Joe Igbokwe asked why the sudden change in statement now because he cannot deny the Igbos in the afternoon and come to them in the night to pay allegiance. Joe Igbokwe noted that this is not the hallmark of a serious and decent person, informing Rotimi Amaechi that they are not babies.

Usel*ss Joe Igbokwe is not in the position to tell us who is Igbo or not. Even he (Igbokwe) has constantly derided the Igbos for cheap political gains. Secondly Amaechi has never denied being Igbo, you lazy bloggers and journalists should not just publicize every scrappy content put out there by desperate politicians, can you produce any evidence where Amaechi denied being Igbo??. I will vote Amaechi not because he is Igbo but because he is competent

Ameachi has in numerous occasions reiterated for a fact that he’s an Ikwerre man from Rivers State and that the ikwerre are not Igbos. It’s was only in 2015 when he was campaigning for his master Oga Buhari against his own brother Goodluck Ebele Jonathan that he came to the east and said that ” he was more igbo when compared to Goodluck, because he speaks and understands Igbo when compared to Goodluck.
Till date many ikwerres do not believe and accept the fact that they are igbo. Prominent amongst them is the current Governor of Rivers Mr Nyesom Wike who on countless times has denied being igbo.
I am not being tribalistic but for the purpose of fairness the Igbo presidency much talked about should go to a core son of the South East.
