Amuwo Odofin LG polls: Stakeholders rallies support for Dipo Olorunrinu aspiration

Ahead of the May 29th primaries in the All Progressives Congress party to churn out candidates for the July 24th council polls,major stakeholders in the politics of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, on Wednesday indicated their resolve to queue behind Honourable Dipo Olorunrinu.

They cited his selfless qualities and good grasps of administration within the locality as an edge he has above all other aspirants jostling for the chairmanship seat in the council.

This stance was openly declared by the ‘who is who’ in Amuwo Odofin area of the state, as Dipo Olorunrinu officially declares his intention to jostle for the number one seat in the council’s administration.

While addressing people gathered at the venue on 512 Road Roundabout in Festac amidst large crowd of supporters, Dipo noted that if given the blessings of the teeming residents of Amuwo Odofin to eventually emerge as their Chairman he would be a public servant.

” I have no where to run to, I will keep my word with you,I am not a ruler but a public servant, a packaged house boy.

“Come May 29th I urge you all to come out massively from all areas in Amuwo Odofin and do the needful from 5th Avenue to YMC building to 24 Road to 3rd Avenue,A1, A2 and all other designated points to reaffirm your well expressed decisions made today.

” I take all your words here seriously, the journey to liberate Amuwo Odofin has just began.” Dipo declares.

Dipo’s official declaration to vie for the seat, clearly had the blessings of major stakeholders in Amuwo Odofin’s polity as Hon. Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay a member representing the Amuwo Odofin constituency 1 was at the gathering to raise up the former lawmakers hand in a form of endorsement that signals the blessings of Rt.Hon.Mudashiru Obasa,Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly.

The Lagos State Igbo United front was also well represented by Prince Nixon Okwara a business magnate, who calls for more inclusion of the Igbos in the political permutations of Nigeria adding that the aspirants is a detribalized Nigerian whom they know can, “resuscitate Amuwo Odofin LGA as it is currently in the intensive care unit”.

“I bring a very unusual message to you, one that signals a renewal of Igbos hope in Amuwo Odofin which is currently under ‘Intensive Care Unit’ ICU and if we don’t come to rescue it may be dead by next four years.

You are there already,let anyone undermine you at their own peril. Igbo market leaders are committed to this project. You are a detribalized man with virtues of humility and eagerlitarianism.

I don’t usually go for this kind of gathering,I am using this to make a statement that we are behind you.

“Igbo leaders in Lagos and APC are here to say we are behind you. In your time you will witness a different IGR and different value of support financially and otherwise in that council.

“You are the anointed one who will be there and we will rally round you to build Amuwo Odofin.

“We need no puppet or stooges but someone with qualities,anyone against you is against the youths,developments and more good things. “Prince Okwara pledges.

On BATOBASA advocacy,”we are sure if you get a hold of Igbos in Lagos you have 70 percent of the East because at least each family has someone in Lagos,carry us along and get different results.”

Chief Chris Equillo Anya Ndigbo (aka political gas) also lend credence to Prince Okwara’s statements adding that Dipo Olorunrinu is Igbos anointed candidate for the Amuwo Odofin council election.

“I am here to support his aspiration for he is the Igbo anointed one in Amuwo Odofin, the one God ordained and also anointed by people in authority.

The predecessor of Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu, Hon.Sultan Adeniji Adele in his contribution about his aspiration reeled out his first experience of whom Olorunrinu was to him.

“In 2015 I said we will win him back then,we felt it will be a walk over,morning of the election day we came out with so much confidence but later the thing changed.

We later got a surprise and I said God has a say in this let’s go home and restrategize for another time,it was your time then and your time now.

He tried reaching out to me, repeatedly and later convinced me. We became allies and I later got to know we were born on the same day. You will be there, you are the anointed candidate by divine arrangement and in the circle of the mortals.

Lady Maureen who led the Amazon Ladies in Amuwo Odofin also joins the others to mirror Hon.Dipo’s contributions to human capital development thus far.

“You were able to reach out to all the categories in Amuwo Odofin while in PDP as the lawmaker representing the constituency at the state Assembly and now in APC not yet holding any office.

“It is in your DNA. We are solidly behind you and come May 29th we will queue behind you to take you to 41 road (council secretariat location).

Councillorship aspirants who also used the former lawmaker’s public declaration of intent to vie for the council topman job, to indicate thèir own interest in their various wards took turns to express their profound appreciation and respect for his leadership qualities.

One of them Egobi Osagie Daniel aspirant for ward K,notes that Hon. Dipo is tested and trusted and a great leader who has earned himself people’s trust which he would consolidate on being a legend in Amuwo Odofin politics.

Dupe from ward J a riverine community of Amuwo Odofin notes that his aspiration bring a great relief to them because with him at the helms of affairs in the council their community will withness government presence.

We have been waiting for this time, a lot is happening here Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu remains a sellable candidate, a reasonable Chairman.

We take you as a king being the only one that cared to pay us a visit, those in position never did for once.

Our votes we will give to you will be a bloc type, the youths are in charge in our ward so be rest assured that your interest will be taken care of. The people at the waterside are all behind you.

A councillor Ahmed Ahmed also aspiring from Ward C notes that the former lawmaker has been supportive all through for many developmental advancements adding that with him as Chairman byelaws made by them will get a lifeline,rather than being jettisoned as evident in the present administration.

All the roads the incumbent Chairman claimed to have constructed has no concurrence of the councillors.

Hon. Aramide also an aspirant in the councillorship race notes how concerned the former lawmaker was in human capital development.

He has been a very caring and supportive person. He has been doing good across board,despite the fact that he is not holding any political office he is still doing great for the Amuwo Odofin people,he always keep his words,come 29th May we will be at 41 Road to vote him in.
